Case Study Overview
One of the most problematic noises to reduce to an acceptable level in a vehicle is that of the power steering pump. New technologies and techniques are being developed to speed-up and ease the refining process.
The requirement was to develop a ‘standard’ test for assessing the acoustic quality of power steering pumps in vehicles. Measurements needed to be objective so that the method would be suitable for evaluating dissimilar vehicles and different types of pump.
